The Iowa State Fair is bringing one of country music's biggest stars to the 2020 Grandstand. Five time Grammy Award winner, Chris Stapleton, will play the Iowa State Fair Grandstand on Friday, August 21, at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale Monday, December 2, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. This year marks Stapleton's first performance at the Iowa State Fair.
Chris Stapleton quietly wrote songs for top country artists before taking the microphone and putting his career in hyper-drive. By 2018, he was credited with writing or co-writing a total of 170 songs, six of which made it to number one on country music charts. Stapleton has racked up numerous awards and nominations for albums Traveller, From a Room: Volume 1 and From a Room: Volume 2. For example, his song "Nobody to Blame" won the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards Song of the Year, and his album From a Room: Volume 1 won the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards Album of the Year along with single of the year for "Broken Halos." In all, Stapleton has earned five Grammy Awards, seven Academy of Country Music Awards (CMA), ten Country Music Association Awards, and five Billboard Music Awards.

Children under the age of 2 do not need a Grandstand ticket. Please see concert maps for reserved and seated or standing pit area. The Iowa State Fair Ticket Office will open July 6 for walk-up orders only (while supplies last). Convenience charges apply to all tickets. Grandstand tickets do not include Fair admission.
